Job seeker visa o
The Portugal Job seeker visa permit allows foreign residents to enter and stay in Portugal for up to 120 days (4 months):
To look for work, authorizing them to engage in dependent employment, until the visa expires, or the residence permit is granted.
It can be extended for a further 60 days and allows only one entry into Portugal.
If you manage to find work during this period, you have the right to apply for a residence permit (under the terms of Article 77).
Once the work visa has expired without an official employment relationship having been established, the visa holder must leave the country.
In these situations, you can only reapply for a new visa for this purpose one year after the expiry of the previous visa.
Job Seeker visa benefits
This visa is useful if you prefer to be physically present in the country to look for job offers and attend interviews.
You don’t need a job offer before you go to the country.
Easier process.
Gives you a more realistic perception of life and work in the country.
It’s a hybrid – it starts out as a temporary visa, but can become a residence visa if you get an employment contract.
